Geçmişten Günümüze Boynuzun Kullanım Alanları

Abstract


Boynuzlar, genellikle memeli hayvanların baş kısmında yer alan ve büyümenin bir işareti olarak kabul edilir. Keratin ve benzeri proteinlerden oluşup doğumdan sonra gelişmeye başlar ve bu süreç hayvanın yaşamı boyunca devam eder. Birçok memeli hayvan türünün erkekleri boynuzlu olup büyüklük ve şekli türe göre değişim gösterir. Boynuzlar tarih öncesi dönemlerde yararlı ve süs eşyası olarak kullanılmıştır. Taş devrine ait bulgularda bile hayvan boynuzları üzerine magara resimlere rastlanılmıştır. Yüzyıllardan beri boynuzlar, kadeh, ilaç, düğme, bıçak, müzik aleti, barutluk gibi değişik amaçlar için de kullanılmıştır.
